Coalition Ambassadors Selected for 2024-25
June 11, 2024
Twenty enrollment professionals from public and private institutions across the country have been selected as Coalition Ambassadors for 2024-25. This year-long professional development program empowers rising leaders at Coalition member schools to collaborate on nationally coordinated and regionally impactful college access initiatives.
Ambassadors provide a leading voice in the Coalition’s work to democratize access to trusted information about the college-going process. They work together to develop programs and materials that help students learn about, prepare for and apply to college.
“The Coalition represents a unique opportunity, through its partner colleges and its mission, to raise up how we can center the lives of marginalized students in the college application process,” says Windsor Jordan, associate dean and director of access and equity at Swarthmore College and a member of the new cohort. “Collaborative platforms like the Coalition are the future of college admissions because at its best, it has colleges, regardless of our individual institutional needs, thinking together about how we can put students and families first in this process.”
In addition to supporting direct student outreach, Ambassadors also connect with leaders in the college access and enrollment management fields. The professional development component of the program is designed to provide professionals who are committed to access and inclusion with the opportunity for networking and professional growth.
“I’m thrilled to welcome the next cohort of Ambassadors, who bring with them a passion for the Coalition’s mission and an interest in furthering the organization’s support for historically underrepresented and under-resourced students pursuing higher education,” says Liz Cheron, CEO of the Coalition. “During this critical time in enrollment management, the Coalition is proud to partner with these impressive emerging leaders and to invest in their professional development.”
The cohort model allows Ambassadors the opportunity to learn from and share with each other, across a diversity of member institutions. “The Ambassadors are an amazing group of colleagues who act with passion and urgency in service to their students,” says Chris Quach, associate director of admissions at Columbia University, about his participation as a member of the 2023-24 cohort. "The program has enabled me to gain exposure to how a range of higher education institutions are addressing the most pressing issues in admissions and college access.”
The new cohort begins the program August 1.
