REGIONAL IMPACT,

NATIONAL SCALE

Launched in late 2023, the Coalition’s New York City-based initiative provides local support for counselors, community partners, students and their supporters.

In partnership with the NYC Department of Education, the Coalition has provided professional development workshops for hundreds of school counselors, featuring the expertise of Coalition admissions and financial aid officers.

This year, we have connected with more than 35 community-based organizations in the area to offer free programming, access to college- and career-planning tools and support for students in their college search.

Through this initiative, New York City students and supporters benefit from all of the college-planning expertise that the Coalition has to offer.

Claudia Aviles, the Coalition’s program manager, is based in The Bronx and serves as a point of contact between Coalition members and on-the-ground support opportunities in the New York metro area.
