Application fee waivers
At the Coalition, we want to make college a reality for all students. That’s why we provide easy-to-use application fee waivers, which make it free for eligible students to apply to participating member schools.
Coalition Fee Waiver
We make it easy for students to receive application fee waivers in one short step. Simply check any boxes that apply to you in the Fee Waiver section of the application profile on Scoir, and you’ll be able to discover schools that will waive your application fees. We don’t require any additional documentation or verification.
Eligibility criteria accepted by all Coalition members include:
Qualifying for the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program
Receiving a College Board, ACT, and/or NACAC fee waiver
Being eligible for a Pell Grant
Participating in TRIO programs
Additional Fee Waiver Opportunities
Many of our member schools also extend fee waivers via our application to students who:
Are veterans or active members of the U.S. Armed Forces
Self-identify as the first in their family to attend college
Receive public assistance
Are enrolled in a federal, state, or local program that aids students from low-income families
Live in federally subsidized public housing, a foster home or are homeless.
Are a ward of the state or an orphan
Receive need-based scholarships elsewhere
Are being assisted by any college or university access program
You’ll find the fee waiver questionnaire with these choices in Scoir. Simply select any that apply to you, and you’ll see a list of schools where you can apply for free.
You can also reach out a school directly to request a fee waiver, if needed.
