Announcing our new CEO, Stacey Kostell

We at the Coalition for College are excited to announce that our board of directors has named Stacey Kostell our new chief executive officer, effective March 2.

A Coalition board member since 2017, Kostell joins our leadership team from the University of Vermont, where she served as vice president for enrollment management. With more than 20 years of experience in admissions and enrollment management at universities across the U.S., she has demonstrated her commitment to expanding access to higher education, increasing affordability, and ensuring student success.

“We are very excited to welcome Stacey as the CEO of the Coalition,” says Kedra Ishop, vice provost for enrollment management at the University of Michigan and chair of the Coalition’s board of directors. “She brings more than 20 years of service in higher education, particularly at public institutions, and a commitment to access and success. Additionally, her administrative and professional experiences position her well to lead a dynamic and innovative membership organization that is united in its efforts in the service of students.”

Kostell was selected as our CEO after a national search for a visionary leader who would guide the continued growth of our organization, which now includes more than 150 colleges and universities working together to improve the college application process and promote access to higher education. A first-generation student, she is passionate about our mission to make college a reality for all students, particularly those who have been historically underserved.

“I am honored to serve as the CEO for the Coalition and to continue building on the many achievements from the organization’s first five years,” says Kostell. “I believe our strength is in our membership—more than 150 colleges and universities dedicated to improving access and success—and I’m excited to lead our members on new initiatives and strategies aimed at making higher education attainable for all students.”
